COVID19: Mo Roots is Bringing Some 'Sunshine' into People’s Homes with #FromTheSun Online Concerts

As the world grapples with the effects of the deadly corona virus, many people have found themselves alone in quarantine, dealing with social distancing and country lock-downs that have been imposed on citizens by various governments as a measure to curb the spread of the virus.

Under the current circumstances, we are all devoid of experiencing music shows and events. This has prompted artists stuck inside like everyone else, to put on small shows in their homes to entertain and comfort fans.

Mo Roots has chosen to bring a little sunshine into the homes of Ugandans during these dark times by putting on a series of mini concerts dubbed, ’#FromTheSun’ that air live on her Face book page every Wednesday at 3pm(EAT). She put on her first concert on 8th April performing songs like ‘Bring It Home’ and ‘You had me at Hello’ off her debut album,’From The Sun.’ She also performed a cover of Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ sharing a message of hope and encouraging viewers to take care of their mental space.

The 2nd episode that happened on 15th April saw her perform a cover of Sam Kimera’s ‘Gwe Wange,’ and Kaz Kasozi’s ‘It’s my destiny’ under the theme, ‘Awesome Ugandan Musicians.’

With all that is going on in the world right now, the initiative is a reminder that we do not have to go through this alone, but lean on each other to make it through this tough time.
