ABOUT
Kampala Design
Week .
Kampala Design Week is Uganda’s premier design festival. Established in 2017, Kampala Design Week is a social enterprise founded to cultivate and resource a vibrant community that celebrates high-quality design, designers, and design consumers. In 2019, the Kampala Design Week attracted 1300 unique visitors over a 5 day period and created 57 jobs for young people in various design fields such as graphics design, architecture, gaming and product design.
We have done this through a network of partners who come alongside us every year; our partners in the past have included British Council, Design Without Borders, Numida, SafeBoda, Kafunda Kreative, Milege Foundation, Addmayya, Uganda Martyrs University - Nkozi, Makerere University, Goethe Zentrum, Alliance Francaise and LocalWorks (previously Studio FH).
