Kola Design Fellowship is a 10-day fellowship program happening starting 22nd September 2021. The 10 day program invites designers from across Uganda to join a team of local and international experts in Uganda with the aim of addressing some of the development challenges of Uganda using insights from user design methods.
The key focus this year will creating tangible solutions for a healthier planet with a focus on circular economies.

What is the Kola Design FellowshipKola Design Fellowship is a 10-day fellowship program happening starting 22nd September 2021. The 10 day program invites designers from across Uganda to join a team of local and international experts in Uganda with the aim of addressing some of the development challenges of Uganda using insights from user design methods. The fellowship is part of Kampala Design Week, which has been hailed as Ugandas leading design event since 2017. This fellowship acts as a launchpad and boost for design projects that seek to address human needs at multiple scales. It also serves as a platform to connect with like-minded individuals, and become part of the Kola Alumni The key focus this year will be used to create tangible solutions for a healthier planet with a focus on circular economies. We will have a holistic debate and learn how we can design towards zero waste.

Who is Eligible?● Fellowship applicants must be Ugandan. ● Fellowship participants must have a minimum of 2 years in design practice, or they earned a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in design, architecture, industrial design or any other related fields. ● Participants must be able to demonstrate a high level of critical thinking, creativity and teamwork. ● Participants must commit to all 10 days of the fellowship in order to be certified. ● Women are highly encouraged to apply
